It’s election year, so put a date in your diary for a stimulating but relaxed Thursday night’s political chat. There’ll be no agenda, just an open opportunity to discuss issues of mutual concern with whoever turns up in the Leg, including of course our Parliamentary Candidate, Helen Maguire. There’ll be plenty of in informal conversation, but no speeches!

This is your chance to “Hear all about it!”, to ask questions and figure out just what you may be able to DO to help create our truly exciting, energising and victorious GENERAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN. It might be some ‘backstage’ but vital task, or something ‘centre stage’.

We want to talk to our members to explain the work we have done to date, where we are and what we ALL still need to do - TOGETHER in preparation for the General Election.

First there will be a BIG TEAM PHOTO at 7pm outside Bourne Hall, Ewell. We need as many people as possible to attend.

The evening will be an optimistic opportunity to relax, socialise and have a drink as well!

If you attended last year’s Constituency Dinner, we’re certain you’ll be delighted to return to the same excellent venue. If you weren’t there, then please do take advantage of a second chance to savour the offerings of one of Leatherhead’s best kept secrets!

The formal three course dinner, to include vegetarian options, (specific choices later) will be our biggest fund-raising event of the year, featuring a grand auction with some high-end lots, and a raffle with a number of highly desirable prizes.

Our guest speaker will be life peer, Baroness Parminter, Deputy Leader of the Lib Dems in the House of Lords. Kate Parminter was a councillor in Horsham and now lives in Godalming. She has a wide variety of interests ranging from animal rights to mental health, from care for the elderly to children’s literacy. She was a member of the Party's Federal Executive Committee, which endorsed the proposal to join the coalition government with the Conservatives in May 2010, and promises to be a stimulating and engaging speaker. She will be taking a Q and A session.
