Ewell

Julian Freeman and Alan Avis

Alan Avis and  Julian Freeman for Ewell.

Alan Avis spent years as a parent governor at his children’s primary school and a leader of a local youth group. A qualified social worker and former charity Chief Executive supporting adults with disabilities and carers, Alan continues to volunteer locally, including with Surrey Stands With Ukraine. Alan is focused on bringing a fresh perspective to council community services, making our part of Surrey the best place to live and work, tackling anti-social behaviour and its root causes, and strengthening community ties.

Julian Freeman is a serving councillor for Epsom & Ewell Borough Council and has many years of experience across different committees and local initiatives, giving him a deep understanding of how local government works. He also has a background in social housing, which began with feeding the homeless in London, shaping his long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable people. Professionally, he has worked in IT,  bringing practical problem-solving skills to his work in the community. He lives in Ewell Village and is actively involved in his church community, volunteering locally. When he’s not doing that, you may find him spending time with his children as a dedicated family man. Julian is committed to being part of a fresh start for Ewell Village, Stoneleigh, Nonsuch, and East Surrey, standing with a party that genuinely cares about listening to residents and making sure services run properly.

As the Liberal Democrat candidate for Ewell Village, Stoneleigh, Nonsuch, Julian is committed to practical, common-sense solutions that make a real difference to residents’ everyday lives. He cares about keeping local services running smoothly, managing council finances responsibly and supporting the community.
