Latest on Blue Badge Petition

Our Petition against Blue Badge holders being charged to use council-owned car parks has been presented to the borough council by Mr Steve Gee, Chairman of Epsom & Ewell Liberal Democrats.

Objections to the Traffic Order advertising the charges needed to be submitted to the council by 7th June. Without any objections, the Traffic Order could have been validated immediately. Those objections included Epsom & Ewell Lib Dems petition, with signatures from the High Street petition added to the on line version. Submitting an objection ensures the subject must be referred on to a meeting of the Environment Committee, the next being held on 30th June.

The 30th June Environment Committee meeting is open to the public. It will begin at 7.30pm. Speakers are permitted at this meeting and there's plenty of time to give the required notice.
